I came across this new art form recently and have been following the "Little People" blog. The street artist Slinkachu has been placing small figures in silly situations with found objects or natural settings. It is a really cool idea I think and the photos are great. They make me laugh and I know if I saw this one day while walking on the street, it would make me smile. It is an interesting take on street art because normally we think of street art as graffiti, tagging, or paper images mounted on walls. However, this is a unique approach and makes me want to look around my surroundings more and see what could be.
The photographs make this unique street art very effective and create these small worlds in the bigger whole. The different images show how up close it looks like some large person but zoom out and it's this tiny figure compared to our large world. The titles of pieces are also very clever and work well with the overall finished project.
Some of my favorite images are:
